In August of 2011, after 10 years and 2 months of being in business I decided to become a plastic free café. The single use, disposable items that restaurants use have taken a serious toll on our earth. I am a surfer. I love the ocean and I could no longer turn a blind eye once I learned of the mess we have made. We have recycled for years and I thought that was good enough. But when you care about something you learn about it. And once I had this information there was no going back.
I know there are cheaper, quicker alternatives that you have for breakfast and lunch. Our goal is not to be the fastest, cheapest food in town. Our goal is to nourish you, to care about you and to be a responsible part of the business community. Responsible human beings.
We have dedicated ourselves to being 100% plastic free for all of our to go wares. Everything from the lids on the coffee cups, to the lining inside the soup bowls to the forks made from potatoes. We have found alternative, compostable materials. They cost 3x as much as the plastic stuff, but we hope in time, when more restaurants follow suit, the prices will come down. In the mean time we thank you very much for your support of us.
When you eat at GoodOnYa you are literally helping to save our planet!
I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.
